Why Affiliate with Swim England?
Swim England affiliation offers independent schools a structured, nationally recognised framework to elevate swimming from a curricular or co-curricular activity into a credible performance sport and powerful admissions marketing asset.
What Swim England Affiliation Is
Swim England affiliation formally connects a school-led swimming programme to the national governing body for the sport.
It allows schools to:
-
Operate within nationally recognised governance and safeguarding standards
-
Enter swimmers into licensed competitions
-
Access official rankings and qualification pathways
-
Align swimming provision with elite performance structures
Affiliation does not require schools to become community clubs, although it is an option open to schools.
It enables a school-based programme to operate legitimately within the national system, at a level appropriate to the school’s ambition.
